[Kerwin At AI Travel Pulse] The AI Internet Is Nuts Today
I asked AI to create an anime of me... then used it to plan a real trip.

Hi AI Traveler,
I hope you are well today.
The AI world is all abuzz today as a new prompt is being shared. It basically look at your chatGPT account and creates a caricature of you and an environment using what it knows about you.
Typically, I donโt do these things, but I use ChatGPT a lot and it knows a lot about me so I did.
Iโve never gotten ChatGPT to do an image that looks like me, and today was no different. No matter how many times I give it an image of me. It got my clothes correct from the image I sent it, but not my face.
I know that AI is getting better at image generation, so at some point in the future, I can give a talk about how AI image creation has improved.

Just so your image looks different, try this prompt instead:

Note that you can tell the AI to change anything in the image you donโt like or you think is not representative. I made a number of edits on the second one :-).

๐ฌ AI Travel Prompt
Act as a travel strategist. Iโm planning a trip to [destination] in [month]. Identify the top 3 decision points where travelers usually make poor choices (timing, location, logistics, or expectations), and explain what a smarter alternative would be โ and why.
Iโm heading to Dublin this week and this is what it gave under Location and its spot on :-). Itโs super cold in Dublin now and walking means freezing and itโs perhaps raining too:
2๏ธโฃ Location: Staying too far outside the core neighborhoods
Common poor choice:
Booking cheaper hotels well outside the city center, assuming taxis or buses will be easy late at night.
Smarter alternative:
Stay central or just outside the canal โ think:
St. Stephenโs Green area
Smithfield
Docklands (near Luas stops)
Why this works:
In February, weather + short daylight hours matter more. Being able to walk back after dinner or a pub crawl beats waiting in the cold for transport. Youโll do more without realizing it.
๐ฌ Featured Question:
Whatโs one travel decision youโd trust AI to help with โ and one you still want to make yourself?
Iโll feature a few next issue.

โ๏ธ Quick Take: Why This Matters for Travelers
This week reinforces a clear shift in travel AI โ itโs moving out of demos and into real-world deployment. Airlines are embedding AI deep into pricing and retail systems, leaders are openly acknowledging where human judgment still matters, and destinations are scaling fast by partnering with platforms like GuideGeek instead of building their own tools. The common thread: AI is no longer about planning trips โ itโs about supporting better decisions across the entire travel journey.
๐ง AI Tip
When planning a trip, ask AI to optimize for risk, not price. Prompts like โBuild this itinerary minimizing misconnect risk, weather exposure, and overnight delaysโ produce very different (and often smarter) results than price-only planning โ especially for winter travel or tight connections.
๐ Fun Fact
Some airline and destination AI systems now ingest live flight capacity and hotel occupancy data, meaning the AI may already โknowโ a destination is about to feel crowded or overpriced โ even before travelers start complaining on social media.
